Help a Beginner Setting up AR1220 router

Good day everyone,


I bought a  used Huawei AR1220 router thinking it will help me get started with the Huawei ecosystem. But I am having trouble accessing the web portal. Is it possible to plug an ethernet cable to one of the ports and access? I also read I can connect to the router using the console port but I dont have a console cable. But I do have a mini USB cable. I cant seem to find the driver.


Any help is really appreciated,


Let me  know if this was a good descision buying the router.

Hi,
The AR uses the factory default configuration. The IP address is 192.168.1.1, subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, and access interface is the management interface (marked with Management). HTTP and HTTPS services are enabled.
You can visit the router through the web UI with visiting https://192.168.1.1, (Make sure you set your PC IP address same network segment with the router default IP address)

As per your comment I have assigned my computer a static IP address ( 192.168.1.5/24). Because I don't know which of the interface can be used as management interface, I tried plugging in my cat5E Ethernet cable on the ports lablled CON/AUX and GE0. But to no avail the web UI didn't load. Am I plugging it on the right port? Am I running an old version that doesnt support WEBUI? Do I have to first enable something on the terminal first?

Could you point me towards the mini USB driver? so I can try it using the min USB port
