Hi, all.

I am trying to config a SmartAX MA5616 - this is my first Huawei DSLAM so I'm starting from the ground up. I have logged into the CLI but when I run 'display board 0/4' (for the single H835ADLE card) it returns the board type and then under status, it reports 'auto_find' - there is no port information listed at all. I assume that I need to load firmware to this card but I don't have access to any support, seeing that this DSLAM was bought online.  Is anyone able to assist, please?

Thanks, Seeking66.

Usage Guidelines

  • When you specify only the shelf ID, the information about all the boards in the shelf is queried. You can query the information, including the slot ID, board name, board state, and board online/offline state.

  • When the shelf ID and slot ID are specified, details of the specified board are displayed. You can query the information, including the board name, board state, and port information.

  • The total number of activated and deactivated ports is displayed when you query information about a service board and its ports.

  • You can query the board state to check whether the board is in the normal state currently. The following table describes the board state set.

    Board State

    Description

Whether You Need to Handle the Board/How to Handle the Board

    Failed

    Indicates the failed state.

You need to handle the board:

After the fault is rectified, the board state becomes Normal.

    Auto_find

    Indicates the auto-find state.

You need to handle the board:

Run the board confirm command to confirm the board. Then, the board state becomes Normal. You can configure or query the board only after the board is confirmed successfully.

    Auto_load

    Indicates the auto-load state.

After the service board is inserted to the slot, the board sends its version information to the system. If the board software version is different from the software version saved in the flash memory of the control board, the system automatically loads the software from the flash memory.

You do not need to handle the board. The board state becomes Normal or Auto_find multiple times later.

    Prohibited

    Indicates the prohibited state.

Run the board prohibit command to prohibit a board if the board is not in used according to the network deployment or the board is faulty and the fault needs to be located, diagnosed, and rectified.

Run the undo board prohibit command to unprohibit a prohibited board.

    Shutdown(manual)

    Indicates the manual shutdown state.

When no service is configured on the port, you can run the board prohibit to manually power off the service board to reduce power consumption.

Run the board power-on command to power on the service board remotely.

    Config

    Indicates the configured state.

The board enters the configured state automatically after being confirmed.

You do not need to handle the board. The board recovers seconds later.

    Normal

    Indicates the normal state.

You do not need to handle the board.

    • Check whether the board is not inserted or is inserted loosely.

    • Check whether the board program fails to be loaded.

    • Check whether the board hardware is faulty.
