Hi there!

This time, I will share with you a case about GSCC board reports alarms due to version inconsistency.

Problem Description

The NESOFT_MM alarm is reported after the GSCC board on the OptiX OSN 3500 is replaced.

Alarm Information

Please see the figure below:

Handling Process

1. According to the alarm parameter, we know that the file versions of the working SCC and those of the protection SCC are inconsistent.

2. Run the command to check the SCC board software version, also can check the version on the NMS.

:sftm-get-testver:bid

3. It is found that the basic versions of the boards in slots 17 and 18 are inconsistent.

4. Load the BIOS of the board in slot 17 to version 08.09.14 through the board-level software upgrade. The alarm is cleared.

Root Cause

The BIOS versions of the working SCC and those of the protection SCC are inconsistent.

Solution

Upgrade the standby board BIOS version, clear the alarm.
