Hi there, everyone!

This post is about the GPON HG8245 after firmware upgrade. Please see below for more information.

Huawei HG8245

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

I have the GPON router HG8245. I've found that its firmware is old and I've decided to upgrade it with the new one. I've downloaded the latest firmware from huawei.com and tried to upgrade. I went through all steps from downloading the configuration file to merging the configuration file with the new downloaded update.

Then I updated the firmware and then it asked me for reboot. I did reboot but nothing happened!! The same revision is showing, then I tried again, but this time it did not ask for reboot.

After a few minutes, I decided to run the reboot by reboot command, but it did not connect either.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION

I've tried so many things and finally I managed to get it connected by setting the static IP address, however I couldn't get the configuration page again until now.

Regards,

Majid Al-Shidhani

Yes, I can ping the IP address.

Although I tried to restore the ONT to Default Configuration by the pressing the reset button for more than 10s but did not work.
