Line Rate Forwarding
The line rate is a physical layer term that has nothing to do with the line cards or switching fabrics.
The flexible LPU comprises the mother board (LPUF-120) and multiple flexible cards (sub-cards), improving networking flexibility. The flexible LPU supports 120G full LR forwarding, which reduces costs and provides personalized solutions for users.
The LPUF-120 which enhances networking flexibility and provides low-cost and customized solutions supports packet forwarding at the line speed of 240 Gbit/s. The LPUF-120 provides two 1/2-width slots, and each slot holds one FPIC. The LPUF-120 supports mixed insertion between different FPICs.
The LPUF-120 is hot swappable.
Interface Attributes
The LPUF-120 does not provide interfaces externally.
So, It indicates the actual speed with which the bits are sent onto the wire (and is thus also known as physical layer gross bit rate).
