FTPS on oceanstor 5500 V5

I have followed the instructions to enable an FTP share on my new 5500 V5, however, why I try to connect using any ftp client, the connection always times out.


Can anyone offer any advise?


I have created:

  • 1 disk domain
  • 1 storage pool
  • 3 filesystems
  • 1 logical port
  • 1 local user group
  • 1 local user
  • 1 FTP share

I have also enabled the FTP service.


Is there anything wrong with my configuration that would prevent FTP?

For example - I notice that on the logical port, under "data protocol" it lists only NFS+CIFS, should this not show FTPS? If so, how can it be changed?

Hello!

When configuring the sharing access, please ensure that the logical port can ping the IP addresses of the domain controller, DNS server and clients. If the ping test fails, add the routes from the IP address of the logical port to the network segment of the domain controller, DNS server or clients. 

Please confirm if the network issue has been solved.

Hi,

I can ping the logical port from my client computer. I can also access the management web interface from the client computer.

I do not know how to send a ping from the logical port - I do not see such a command in the web interface, nor on the CLI management interface.

hello , The problem cannot be located based on the screenshot. You are advised to collect logs and contact the local TAC to view the problem.

Ultimately, the problem could have been resolved from the screenshots!
The solution is not something that I saw in the documentation, but it probably squirrelled away in there somewhere...

I configured my logical port for management and for service. It seems that the ftp will only work when the logical port is configured only for service.

This is annoying for me, as I wanted to be able to manage the system and access the data on it through one port, but will now need to consider another approach. But I can at least now use ftps.
