 I have EG8247W model   For EG models the first digits are 48575. --> Serial Number

I want to know how to differiante my model from other  EG models

SN is unique number for every device. ONTs have unique Port ID on one PON port, ONTs can have 0 to 4095. Port id can be repeated on different ports. After that, on GPON/XGPON, system has T-CONT with Alloc-ID, 0-4095. Alloc-ID is unique on same PON port, but this number can be repeated on different ports. OLT determines Port ID and Alloc-ID.

In all the HW equipment (frame, ONT, MODEM, etc) have a serial number or product ID as the following:
ONT: 2102310CWP6TBC00xxxx
POWER FRAME: 21024004296MA600xxxx

The
serial number contain 20 digits, to obtain the BOM CODE based on this
number you should take the next 8 digits after the number 21 of the
beginning for example, using the before examples:
ONT: 2102310CWP6TBC00xxxx  --> the BOM CODE is 02310CWP  
POWER FRAME: 21024004296MA600xxxx  --> the BOM CODE is 024004296  


There
is a different case when the Serial Number contains 16 digits and dont
start with the number "21" or "021", I checked that in general this kind
of serial numbers appear in the boards, in this case to obtain the BOM
CODE from these serial number you should follow the next rule:
Take the first 6 digits of SN and add the number "03" in the beginning to complete the BOM CODE. For example:
   SN: 030GYN109500xxxxxx    --> BOM CODE 03030GYNxx   
   Description: OptiX OSN 6800,TN12VA401,4-Channel Variable Optical Attenuator Board  
   SN: 020JTND09500xxxxxx    --> BOM CODE 03020JTNxx   
   Description: OptiX OSN 6800,TN11PIU02,Power Interface Unit,1*2

If your question is how the EG8247W differs from other EG model ONTs.

The answer is that each model has different capabilities. The most common differences are port differences and Gateway ONTs and bridge ONTs.

The PON number is manually configured on the OLT to identify the ONT. The PON number of the ONT connected to the same OLT is unique.
