Generally, the optical power of the ONT ranges from –8 dBm to –27 dBm. The ONT can go online normally only when the optical power of the ONT ranges from –8 dBm to –27 dBm. However, it is recommended that 3 dBm be reserved. The recommended value ranges from –11 dBm to –24 dBm.

If the detected optical power is –5 dBm, the optical power is too high. You are advised to add an optical attenuator ranging from 5 dBm to 10 dBm.

The ONT download rate depends on the downstream bandwidth configured on the OLT. You can check whether the ONT download rate is abnormal based on the port configuration on the OLT.
