Fluctuating EG8247H5

The CPU usage of the ONT (EG8247H5) is high in many cases. I cannot locate the fault based on the information you use.

However, I read the advertised description of the device, and if the device is used in a non-standard scenario, the following malfunctions:

1. The function and performance of the device are abnormal after the device fails.

2. The power adapter fails to be powered on or the housing is deformed.

Reason:

The ONT is used in non-standard scenarios, such as outdoor or semi-outdoor scenarios, and the power supply is abnormal.

1. The fiber reinforcing rib is not cut off before being connected to the home.

2. Network cables and telephone cables are routed outdoors or the ONT is directly installed outdoors.

3. The power grid voltage is unstable and the power cable is in poor contact. As a result, the input voltage of the power adapter fluctuates greatly and exceeds the working voltage range of the power adapter.

Solution:

1. Cut off the fiber reinforcing rib before connecting the fiber to the home.

2. Install the ONT in a clean indoor environment. Do not use network cables and telephone cables.

3. Ensure that the power supply of the adapter is in good contact and the voltage is within the input specifications of the power adapter. For details about the input specifications, see the nameplate of the power adapter.
