Hithere!
In a WDM system, if a wavelength transmits data at a higher rate, the wavelength transmits data at a wider frequency spectrum and has higher requirements on the transmission environment. The interference of adjacent wavelengths must be minimized. For a fixed modulation format, the wavelength spacing is fixed. In fact, the signal only needs to meet the tolerance range that can be normally transmitted. Excess spectrum bandwidth will be wasted if not used.
The Flexible Grid technology adds a compatibility technology that allocates different numbers of frequency particles to wavelength signals with different bandwidths. In this way, bandwidth can be flexibly allocated.
Thank you!
