Have a good day! This case shows how to downgrade the firmware for Oceanstor Dorado 5000 V6.
【Problem Description】
The customer has Dorado 5000 V6 for POC. The customer has upgraded the firmware version from 6.0.0 to 6.0.1 by himself inrolling upgrade scenario. Now the customer wants to downgrade the firmware version back to 6.0.0 and perform firmware upgrade again to look for some more metrics while installing firmware upgrade.
【Problem Analysis】
It’s unusual behavior to downgrade from 6.0.1 to 6.0.0. It’s a big version change between 6.0.1 and 6.0.0. It's bad things to downgrade when the storage has data. If no data in storage you can try using the upgrade process (install 6.0.0) to downgrade from 6.0.1 to 6.0.0.
【Solution Description】
It’s the same method to downgrade and upgrade firmware.

You can use cmd (create upgrade session) to upgrade firmware too.
The create upgrade session command is used to upgrade the software version or software version patch of a controller. Run this command if you need to upgrade the system software package of the storage system.
Please pay attention to the Usage Guidelines
•This command can only be executed on disk arrays.
•The prerequisites for running this command are that the FTP service or SFTP service on the server is enabled and the server is accessible to the storage system.
•Because the types and configurations of servers are different, some servers need "/" to indicate their root directories while others do not. Enter a correct path based on site requirements.
•Running this command may cause service interruption. If an error occurs during the upgrade, the system may become unstable.
•Before performing an upgrade, run change performancestatistic_enabled enabled=no to disable the performance statistics function. Otherwise, system performance will be affected.
•Before performing an upgrade, run show upgrade package to check that the current system software version needs to be upgraded or rolled back.
•During the upgrade, do not add disk enclosures, operate disk enclosures or operate any hardware.
•Run create upgrade session only when all controllers of the storage system are working properly.
•If the storage system serves as a server in the file transfer with external systems, it supports the SFTP service only. If the storage system serves as a client, it supports both the FTP and SFTP services.
•In expert mode, an upgrade will be suspended when encountering an error. In this case, you need check the reason and resume the upgrade using the show upgrade status and change upgrade flow CLI commands.
