Hello, everyone!
Today I will show you the tools for work with PVC pipes, optical cables and optical fibers. Each tool will be shown in the picture. The most famous manufacturers are Miller, Fujikura, GM, Jonard and many others. This is the first article about this theme.
1. Tube/pipe cutter
This tool is used for transverse and longitudinal cutting of pipes. The tool can be adjusted for different pipe diameters. A precision steel blade cuts a PVC pipe. These is important tools for underground cable installations. In the next picture, we can see a tube/pipe cutter.

2. Cable slliter
Cable slitter is one of the very important tool for work in all optical networks. This tool is like a pipe cutter. The cable slliter can be adjusted to the cable and allows longitudinal and transverse cutting of the optical cable. Precision steel blade can be adjustable for cutting. The next picture shows us this tool.

3. Kevlar cutter
Many optical cables (loose tube cables and tight buffered cables) have kevlar. Kevlar protects PVC tubes and optical fibers. This tool allows us to cut kevlar, cabling insulation, tape, cable ties, and other materials flush to the surface. This tool enables clean and accurate cutting. The shape of the tool allows cutting even in inaccessible parts. The Kevlar cutter is shown in the picture below.

4. Fiber stripper
This tool is one of the most important tools. A fiber stripper is used to remove the primary coating of the optical fiber. This is a precise tool and this tool doesn`t endure blows or shocks. Some strippers can strip the jacket, the buffer and the coating. One such tool is shown in the following figure.

Fig.4. Tree hole fiber stripper
The tree hole fiber stripper has three holes. With the first hole, we can strip 1.6-3mm fiber jacket down to the 600-900 micron buffer coating. With the second hole, we can strip 600-900 micron buffer coating down to the 250 micron coating. The last third hole is used to strip the 250 micron cable down.
Thank you!
