FAQs About Hardware Installation of Access Network Devices

158 0 0 0 0

Hello, everyone!

In current networks, it happens more, and more often that device running becomes unstable, service gets interrupted, and even devices are damaged because of the adverse running environment of the telecommunications room or improper hardware installation. It is also noted that the customer does not strictly comply with hardware quality standards during the construction, and quality inspection is not performed after the installation. In addition, the sub-standard running environment of the telecommunications room also becomes a major cause of device faults.

I have collated some instructions about the common problems of equipment installation according to my study materials.

Running Environment–The exhaust vent of a device must not directly face the other devices.

When multiple devices are installed on the same site, the exhaust vent of a device must not directly face the other devices. Otherwise, the constant high-temperature air exhausted from the vent will seriously affect the stable running of the victim devices.

Running Environment–The area above a cabinet must be free of liquid seeping and dripping

To ensure a proper running environment, make sure that the area above a cabinet is free of liquid seeping and dripping. Otherwise, the liquid may fall on the top of the cabinet and enter the cabinet through the apertures on the cabinet top. If any liquid enters the device, a short circuit may occur and can even burn the device.

b

Running Environment–When the cabinet is in normal running, make sure that the cabinet door is closed and locked.

When the cabinet is in normal running, open the cabinet door only when necessary. Make sure that the cabinet door is closed and locked, thus preventing insects and other animals from entering the cabinet, at the same time reducing dust penetration.

C

Cabinet (Shelf) Installation–Do not install any device in the ventilation channel of the cabinet

Do not install any device in the area between the upper and lower shelves of a cabinet. Otherwise, the ventilation channel of the devices may be blocked, causing high temperatures and consequently faults to the devices.

d

Cabinet (Shelf) Installation–Reserve a proper space between installed box-shaped devices

When box-shaped devices are installed in a cabinet, two, three, or four box-shaped devices can be in stacking installation as one set. A space of 2 U must be reserved between every two sets.
