- Run the display license esn command to obtain the ESNs of two member switches in a CSS.
- If two standalone devices have no license before setting up a CSS, apply for
a new license using the two ESNs and perform operations according to
Activating License for a New Network. If the two devices
already have a license loaded or one of them has a license loaded, perform
operations according to Changing ESN. Do as follows:
Log in to http://app.huawei.com/sdp/portal.html to enter the license self-service system. That is, choose
in the upper right corner to open License Use Guide, and perform operations according to Activating License for a New Network and Changing ESN.NOTE:-
The license for a CSS must contain the ESNs of two member devices. If the license has only the ESN of the master chassis, the license of the standby chassis cannot be activated; although a CSS can be set up, the features controlled by the license will be lost after an active/standby switchover is performed and a new license needs to be applied for. If the license has only the ESN of the standby chassis, the license cannot be activated.
-
You must have rights to perform operations on the license self-service system. For details about rights and how to apply for rights, see the License Usage Guide.
-
If you need to perform operations according to Changing ESN, you can also send detailed change reasons to license@huawei.com and then the engineers in the license management center will perform subsequent operations.
-
- Upload the obtained license to the system active MPU.
- Run the license active command to activate the license. Then the standby switch will synchronize the license (to the system standby MPU in versions earlier than V200R006 or to all the other MPUs in V200R006 or later versions).
- After the license is loaded successfully, you can run the display license command to check license file information.
After the CSS splits, the license is still valid on the two member switches.
