Today, I’d like to share a case.
Problem Description
Customer have one ASON OTN 8800 NE ,, there is one NS4 board can't be deleted after removing the board
And the error showing that there is old fiber connection or service available on this board even after uploading NE on U2000
Problem Analysis
1- Check if there is residual fiber connection on NE through U2000 GUI : Not available
2- Check if there is residual WDM Trails on this board : not available
3- Use Navigator and run below commands to confirm available logical boards and fibers on NE : in our case slot 17 still available and two residual fiber connection
Root Cause
Due to available residual fiber connection on NE which not showing on U2000 , need to delete it manually using navigator tool
Solution Description
Use below command to delete remaining fiber connections
-cfg-del-fibermgr:source NE , source board, source port,sink NE,Sink Source,sink port (source&sink in hexa ,also sub rack 0 board no need to add dash like 0-x ,,only x )
after using the command for both residual fiber connection & Upload NE , the logical board have been removed successfully from U2000
