Hello everyone!
This post will share with you a case about the two-fiber bidirectional MSP ring that cannot be created on the HUNS3 board.
Problem Description
1. When a user attempts to create a two-fiber bidirectional MSP shared protection ring on the U2000, the U2000 displays a message indicating that resources are insufficient and the ring fails to be created.

2. One of the optical fiber has another STM-64 two-fiber bidirectional ring.
Process
Because an MSP ring already exists on one of the optical fibers, it needs to create the resource sharing attribute.
1. Check whether the optical fiber data is correct, that is whether the optical fiber is in the ring state, whether the capacity is sufficient, and whether MS trails are generated.
2. Check whether the MSP sharing function is enabled on the network. By default, the MSP sharing function is disabled.
U2000\server\nml\nmlsdh\conf\cfg\nmlsdh.cfg
#|Whether to enable creating MSP ring by resource sharing 0:disable, 1:enableb
EnableMSPShare=0
3. Check whether the MSP sharing attribute is enabled for the source and sink ports of other fiber links. If the attribute is disabled for a port, the MSP ring that shares the slot cannot be created.
Root cause
1. Check the fiber data, which is correct and it is at the STM-64 level. The ring MS trail exists.
2. Check the MSP sharing status and find it’s ‘disable’. So it needs to change the status to ‘enable’. However, after the status is changed to ‘enable’, a message is still displayed indicating that no resource is created.
3. Check whether the MS sharing attribute of the optical port on the board is enabled.
After the MSP sharing configuration is turned on, it still cannot be created because one of them uses a virtual port and a HUSTM3 board to create a virtual STM-64 link.
Because it is already used by another MSP ring, and the virtual port does not support the sharing enable function, it is impossible to create a shared protection ring.
Note: For non-virtual ports, such as ports on SL64 boards, the U2000 provides the MSP sharing function so that shared protection rings can be created.

solution
Add ports and new optical fibers to resolve this issue.
Suggestions and summary
The HUNS3 board and the SDH board on the OptiX OSN 580 do not support the creation of multiple MSP shared rings. Only the pure SDH board on the OptiX OSN 7500 and OptiX OSN 7500II supports the creation of multiple MSP shared rings.
That's all, welcome everyone to leave a message and exchange in the comment area!
Thank you!
