Failed to clear the alarm on eSight

Hello, everyone!


I have a 2288H V5 server. To facilitate the management, I have added the server to eSight.


However, I found that there was some alarm information that could not be cleared after I clicked the alarm.

If the alarm does not exist on the device, I suspect that it is a display bug on the eSight.

This seems to be a problem with the eSight version.

You are advised to upgrade the eSight to the latest version.

Find below how to solve your issue

The eSight provides various alarm monitoring methods and multidimensional alarm data statistics. You can select a proper alarm monitoring method to improve alarm monitoring efficiency.


Table 1 describes the alarm monitoring methods.

Monitor alarms in the alarm list of the Current Alarms window.

In the Current Alarms window, set filter criteria or search out the alarms that concern you and need to be handled. The alarms that are acknowledged and cleared are automatically moved from the list of current alarms to the list of historical alarms.

Characteristics: All current alarms that occur on all NEs and the eSight are monitored in real time.

You have the operation rights for Browse Current Alarms.

Choose Fault > Current Alarms from the main menu.

Monitoring alarms on the alarm panel

In the upper right corner of the eSight, the alarm panel imgDownload?uuid=b28c49c3c60d40a08d6efcc presents the uncleared and cleared alarm statistics at four severities so that users can comprehensively understand handling status.

Characteristics: The severity-specific statistics on uncleared and cleared alarms are quickly obtained and users can learn the alarm handling progress.

Monitor alarms in the topology view.

You can learn the overall running status of NEs and subnets from their colors that indicate the highest severity of alarms on the NEs and subnets. You can right-click an NE or a subnet and choose Alarm List from the shortcut menu to view current alarms, historical alarms, and masked alarms.

Characteristics: The overall running status of networks is monitored in a graphical and intuitive way and the current alarms, historical alarms, and masked alarms can be queried.

  • A topology view has been set up.

  • You have the operation rights for Browse Current AlarmsBrowse Historical Alarms, and Browse Masked Alarms.

Choose Topology > Topology Management from the main menu.
