Got it

Failed to add the user to the local Permission Group

Latest reply: Jan 13, 2019 09:44:49 1065 6 22 0 5

Description:

When a linked clone template is created, an error occurs in the phase of Configuration, indicating that AddUserToVmPrivilegeGroup fails to be set

Cause Analysis:

If lengths of site domain names are inconsistent, for example, the complete site domain name is vdesktop.huawei.com and netBios name is fusionaccess, the program fails to locate the domain user (group) using the specified path.

Solution:

In the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file, add a mapping between the IP address of the AD server and the domain anme prefix. For example, if the IP address is 192.168.1.1 and the domain name prefix is vdesktop, add 192.168.1.1 vdesktop. Then click Reinstall on the tool

Very good one to read, i had another scenario that when creating a VM from template it gives errors indicating that there is a problem with rights and permissions however no problem at all with anything, after analyzing the issue we found out that the antivirus installed on the AD server prevents the newely created VM from communicating with the AD. once disabling it we could create template VM normally.

hust wanted to mention that.
