Fail to delete FPGA of the OSN 3500 SCC

This post will tell you one issue for failing to delete the FPGA of the OSN 3500 SCC.

Problem description

When the OSN 3500 NE software is upgraded from 5.21.12.41 to 5.21.12.42, you fail to issue sys-erase-nesoft to delete two sets of FPGA at the same time.

Error code: 0x90ca

Handling procedure

sftm-softsafe-fail means the error of backup security mechanism. The backup security mechanism ensures that a set of software must always be correct and complete. In case of only one set of FPGA, limited by the detection mechanism, issuing sys-erase-nesoft fails to delete the other set of FPGA software and an error is reported.

Solution

Issue sftm-delete-file. Without any detection, two sets of software can be deleted at the same time.

In addition, sys-erase-nesoft has its defects. In the new upgrade guide, sys-erase-nesoft is changed to sftm-delete-file. Issuing sys-erase-nesoft to operate is not recommended.
