Dear Brunoz,

For this warning:

Impact on the System

After the number of events reaches the upper limit, earlier events will be deleted.

Possible Causes

  • The event log dump server is not started.

  • The event log dump server is unavailable.

If there is a dump server configured the warning should clear every two months automatically, and no need to keep the oldest logs so can ignore this alarm or make a mask to avoid it again.

Dear,

You can try this delete file function in CLI,  you need to backup all your event logs before.

The delete file command is used to delete exported files from the system memory.

Format

delete file filetype=? [ controller_id=? ]

Parameters

Parameter

Description

Value

filetype=?

Type of the file.

The value can be "event", "log", "running_data", "configuration_data", "all_log", "smart", or "workload", where:

  • "event": event files.

  • "log": log files.

  • "running_data": system running data files.

  • "configuration_data": system configuration files.

  • "all_log": all logs of the system.

  • "smart": disk smart information.

  • "workload": workload.

controller_id=?

Controller ID.

Controller IDs are separated by commas (,), the value is in the format of "XA","XB","XC","XD", where the "X" is an integer from 0 to 3, for example: "0A","1C". This parameter can be specified only when "file_type" is set to "log", "all_log", "smart", or "workload".

Level

Administrator

Example

Deleting exported event files from the system memory.

admin:/>delete file filetype=event
Command executed successfully.

More about this function: https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/doc/EDOC1000084195/94040902/delete-file

Thanks.

Hi all,
The Warning is :
Device Name: 5500v3
Device Location: Production SAN/NAS
ID: 0xF00310004
Occurred At: 2021-08-11 00:11 UTC+02:00 DST
Sequence No.: 6060621
Details: The number of event logs is about to reach the upper limit of 50000.
Suggestion:
Step1 Configure the event log dumping server and open the dumping switch. After the dumping is finished, if the alarm persists=>[Step2].
Step2 Collect all related information and contact technical support engineers.

I tried "Delete File Filetype=event" then "log" the "all_log" but same problem.

Bruno.
