Hello, there!

We have a problem with two of our 2288H V5 VMWare ESXi servers
They both had an ESXi purple screen with an NMI issue on at 04.11.2022 about 20:30GMT+1

In the system event log of the server, you can see errors from the Nvidia A16 card which is built into the riser card on the server (attached screenshot).

esxi purple

Can someone help me?

Hello, dear.

As I know, the main cause of the purple screen with the NMI error reported for VMware ESXi follows:

●The server firmware does not match.

●The memory is faulty.

●The mainboard is faulty.

Therefore, you can try the following methods to solve the purple screen problem:

1. Upgrade the server firmware to the latest version.

Firmware download link: BIOS firmware   iBMC firmware

Upgrade Guide: How to upgrade the firmware

2. Remove and insert the memory module or replace the memory module.

You can see the video for 2288H V5 Server Components Installation and Replacement.

3. Replace the motherboard.

Hope this can help you!

Hello, Stephen.

After upgrading the firmware and reinstalling the DIMM, the issue is still the same.
