Artifacts and Image Freezing Occur on the eSpace IVS C/S Client

Symptom

After you search for video files on the Playback tab page, image freezing occurs in the Information dialog box that is displayed.
After you add devices on the Local Domain tab page, artifacts occur in the Information dialog box that is displayed.

Possible Cause

  • The video card of the PC where the eSpace C/S client is installed does not match the video card driver.
  • The resource usage of the PC where the eSpace C/S client is installed is too high.

Solution

  1. Close all opened tab pages and restart the eSpace IVS C/S client or restart the PC.

    If artifacts and image freezing occasionally occur, go to the next step.

  2. Check whether the video card of the PC where the eSpace C/S client is installed matches the video card driver.
    1. Right-click Computer on the PC where the eSpace C/S client is installed.
    2. Choose Properties > Device Manager.

      The Device Manager window is displayed.

    3. Click Display adapters and check whether the video card of the PC matches the video card driver.

      • If no, download and install a video card driver based on the PC model and check whether the fault is rectified.

        If the fault is rectified, no further action is required. If the fault persists, go to 3.

      • If yes, go to the next step.

  3. Disable hardware acceleration.
    1. On the PC where the eSpace C/S client is installed, choose Start > Run.
    2. Enter regedit and press Enter.

      The Registry Editor window is displayed.

    3. Choose HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Avalon.Graphics > DisableHWAcceleration.

      Double-click DisableHWAcceleration and set Value data to 1.
    4. Click OK and press F5 to refresh the registry.
    5. Double-click DisableHWAcceleration to check whether the value of Value data has been set to 1.

      • If no, locate the cause and go to 4.
      • If yes, go to the next step.

  4. Check whether the fault is rectified.

    If the fault is rectified, no further action is required. If the fault persists, contact Huawei technical support engineers
