Hi all,

We have four S5731-H48T4XC, and on these four switches, a stack is configured on ports XGigabitEthernet0/0/1 and XGigabitEthernet0/0/2. Kindly refer display result below,

Logic Port         Phy Port                     Online       Status
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
stack-port0/1      XGigabitEthernet0/0/1        present      up
stack-port0/2      XGigabitEthernet0/0/2        present      up
stack-port1/1      XGigabitEthernet1/0/1        present      up
stack-port1/2      XGigabitEthernet1/0/2        present      up
stack-port2/1      XGigabitEthernet2/0/1        present      up
stack-port2/2      XGigabitEthernet2/0/2        present      up
stack-port3/1      XGigabitEthernet3/0/1        present      up
stack-port3/2      XGigabitEthernet3/0/2        present      up

 

Few days ago, we added S7X08000 cards to make a stack at 40Gbps (4 times 10G).

When we try to add one of the ports into the stack-port interface, we get an error

Warning: Enabling stack function may cause configuration loss on the interface. Keep on going? [Y / N]: y

Error: It is not allowed to add the port to the logical stack-port.

What this error indicates, and how can we resolve that?

Hi,
The card only supports stack in 2-port 25GE interface. While now, you are trying to add the 10GE interface into the stack port.

Root Cause:
After I checked I found this error.

<ACC-SW-1> display stack-port membership
stack-port0/1 has 0 ports
---------------------------------------------
stack-port0/2 has 0 ports

This mean the stack cables are incorrectly connected.
