The differences :

OPM boards use optical devices to switch. When the state is switched, the physical link will be interrupted for a short time of 3 to 4 ms.

EPM uses electrical signals for state switching, and the switching time is less than 1 ms, which has less impact on the existing network.

Same point:

Used for traffic replication and can ensure that user traffic will not be interrupted for a long time due to device failure, that is, when the security device fails, the business traffic through the device can be bypassed to ensure that the business traffic through the device will not be caused by the device failure and interrupted.
