Hi, guys!

This post enquires about the procedure of enabling the roaming auto-connection on K5160 (E3372-153). Please see more details as you read further down.

Huawei E3372-153

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

I'm trying to enable the roaming auto-connection for the K5160 modem (Vodafone's E3372-153). This modem works in MBIM mode. Unfortunately, the host OS is the Embedded Linux, which does not support the configuration via MBIM. Is there any possibility to enable it by default on the modem?

I'm able to access the AT command interface, but there is no WEB interface. I've read many articles in which a magic combo box named 'Enable even when roaming' is placed on the 'Mobile connection' setting WEB page, but the modem doesn't offer the WEB interface at all.

I use MbimSupport.dll for modem configuration.

I will be glad for any help with regards to the procedure of enabling the roaming auto-connection on K5160 (E3372-153).

Regards,
Standa

Dear user,

Please find below the specifications of E3372:

https://consumer.huawei.com/en/mobile-broadband/e3372/specs/.

As it can be seen, it doesn't support the Linux system.

Supported OS's: Windows XP, Vista, Windows7 / 8, MAC, Win Blue.

Yeah, I know :). But it wasn't difficult to make it work under Linux.

My question is about something different. Everything works fine when a local SIM is inserted (the modem is registered to network and automatically establish a connection). But when roam SIM is inserted, the registration is done successfully, but connection not (it waits for an acknowledge).

I know that this behavior is possible to change via WEB interface, but ... So my question is how to make this setting without WEB interface?

I'm looking for any way (via MBIM interface in WIndows, AT command, etc.) how to do this:

Thanks, I've already had this information. I'm looking for "more deep" information like how to switch modes (HiLink/Modem), how to disable ZeroCD, etc. - just examples. So, maybe this place is not the right one for obtaining this kind of information.

Thanks for your time.
