Echolife HG8546M, password change

Hello, we have bought Echolife HG8546M devices. There is some english firmware. We need to change superuser password but it is not possible.


The superuser account is CMCCAdmin - password could be easily found on internet.

We have tried it through web login password change, but there is no change, - password is still default.

We have downloaded configuration from device. The password should be hashed twice, but there is a salt. Could somebody explain us how to correctly hash that password with salt, because we always brick device and have to factory reset it.


Or there is some newer version of firmware available?

Hello, well i am a network administrator. We have bought devices from our distributor. It looks like they have flashed some firmware in the unit. If i work with original huawei device there is default telecomadmin account and wifi ssid HUAWEI-(something) Everything works great and could be setup without problems

This device have Administrator accout : CMCCAdmin and SSID of wifi is CMCC-(something). There is a problem that we can not change things like wifi name, password and another parameters.

So, i think that distributor bought some version of device for china and sold it to us in europe (they flashed some firmware which is not compatible with this device)

EDIT: The telnet is blocked and root user have changed password, in web Maintain Account password could not be changed, still default
