Easy Operation on S5330 failed on configuration download with result code 12

  Rewarded Hi-coins: 0 (problem resolved)

I am trying out Easy Operation on the S5330. The software and configuration should be downloaded from an SFTP server.

The software is downloading without problems, but when the switch tries to download the configuration file the result code is 12.

I did not found any documentation on result codes, that's why I am asking here.

What does "result code 12" mean?

Skyshox

Hello!

Different vendors have different thing(s) for code 12.

However, the main purpose which I conclude is 'read-only' or rights issue.

Can you double check there is no *.cfg or *.zip in the flash; also, do not put the console port during this process.

Moreover, have you given that user good rights to download the file? What about upload? Did you try uploading something from the Switch to SFTP and did it work?

Thank you.

Kindest regards,

Uzair

Hi, Skyshox,
This is the error code returned by SFTP. Different values indicate different meanings.
Code 12 means Write protect (The file is on read-only media, or the media is write protected.)
So you need to check the status of the configuration file on the  SFTP server.

Hi,

thank you for your quick answer. I also found the code 12 for sftp. And I configured the user to have all rights on the file. It is still not working. Yes, the switch has access to the folder too. The software, which is working, is in the same directory with the same permissions.

Why does the Switch should need write permission anyways?

Hi,

thank you for this. I just configured my SFTP Server again with another user and its working now. Seems like he didn't like the password or something like this.

Anyway, it is working now.

Thanks!
