Hi, I am looking for a compatibility matrix for Huawei DWDM equipment to FC SAN switch such as Brocade and Cisco. I searched for a while but cannot find it. Any idea if there is a document like this?

In specific, I want to check which model is supported and is there any firmware requirement on those switches.

Thank you.

Dear kelvkwok!

For storage services, transparent transmission modes are used in WDM networks. WDM devices do not need to connect files. Storage switches usually require a license file. (Brocade devices are required. For Cisco devices, it depends on the actual situation.)

Also note that:

1. The optical modules at both ends must be matched, whether they are single-mode or multi-mode, and the corresponding pigtails must be matched.

2. Port speeds are consistent, and full-duplex / half-duplex modes are consistent

Thank you!

Dear liqiang185,
I believe you misunderstood my question. It is FC and there is no full/half duplex setting on FC SAN switch.
Do you mean there is no compatibility or interoperability matrix for Huawei DWDM equipment?
Thank you.

Hello, I'm describing the conditions that must be met for service interconnection,
Huawei WDM equipment only provides a transparent transmission channel between service equipment and complies with international standards.

You can view the documents about the FC function of Huawei WDM equipment:

Dear liqiang185, thanks again. Is there any Huawei document supports your statement about "Huawei support transparent transmission:? Which international standards are you refering to?
I am not looking for document about FC function but compatibility matrix instead. And I have no permission of access to the link you provided.
Same to yjhd, which international standards are your refering to? Do you mean ISO/IEC? If you are talking about T11 then it is not an international standard but it is an American ANSI standard.

Perhaps I still not made myself clear enough.
Below is a Broadcom/Brocade compatibility matrix.

https://docs.broadcom.com/docs-and-downloads/dam/common/product-matrix/Compatibility-Matrix-FOS-8x-September2018.pdf

On P.41, 7.1 it states "Check with your WDM networking vendor for qualification test details for Brocade switches." So if Huawei DWDM support Brocade SAN switch then I am looking for this kind of document.

On P.41, 7.2 it does not mention Brocade ISL Trunking support with Huawei. It does support other vendors such as Adva, Ciena, Nokia and T8. So if similar kind of Huawei document is available, I want to see if Trunking is support or not.

I am helping my customer using Brocade SAN switch to select a DWDM equipment vendor. If some of the Brocade functions such as Trunking is not supported, I need to let him know.

Thanks again.

Hi Dears, I have got a question.
I want to have DWDM cross border connectivity while on other side of the border we have other vendor then Huwawei but mine is Huwawei,so how can we connect them, and what is the difference of connectivity between giving them a connection from line interface or client interface.

Please waiting for your support.
Cross border interconnectivity.
