- Ensure that the following paths do not contain any space, punctuation, or Chinese character:
- Path where the installation software package is located
- Path where the database to be installed is located
- Ensure that the database has been uninstalled properly according to the following steps:
- You need to stop the database server and exit the database service manager before uninstalling the Microsoft SQL Server 2000.
- Click . The Control Panel window is displayed.
- Double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon. The Add or Remove Programs window is displayed.
- Select Microsoft SQL Server 2000, and then click Change/Remove.
- Click Yes. A progress bar is displayed.
- Perform the remaining operations at system prompts.
- Delete the database-related directories and registry information.
- If the database is installed using a software package, navigate to the directory where the U2000 installation package is stored and double-click the manual_clean_sqlserver.bat script in the engr\engineering\script directory.
- If the database is installed using a DVD-ROM, enter the U2000 installation DVD and double-click the manual_clean_sqlserver.bat script in the engr\engineering\script directory.
NOTE: - If the information indicating successful deletion is displayed, the database-related directories and registry information are deleted successfully. Press any key to close the window.
- If the engr\engineering\script path does
not contain the manual_clean_sqlserver.bat script, perform the following operations to delete the directories and registry
information about the database:
- Delete the MSSQL2000 and MSSQL folder in the installation directory of the database.
- Delete the Microsoft SQL Server folder in the Program files folder that is in the installation directory of the OS.
- Delete the MSDesigners7 and MSDesigners98 folders in the Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared directory that is in the installation directory of the OS.
- Check whether the following registration table information has been
deleted automatically. If the information exists, manually delete it. Click
. In the Run dialog box, enter regedit to open the registration table, delete the
following registry information:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\SQL Server 2000
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\DBSVR
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\MSSQLSERVER
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\SQLSERVERAGENT
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\MSSQLServerADHelper
- After the preceding operations have been performed, restart the OS.
- Ensure that the registry does not contain the PendingFileRenameOperations key value.
- Choose . In the Run dialog box, enter regedit and press Enter.
- In the register window, choose from the main menu. In the dialog box that is displayed, enter PendingFileRenameOperations and click Find Next.
- Check whether the PendingFileRenameOperations key value is displayed in the search result. If yes, right-click the key value and choose Delete from the shortcut menu.
- Reinstall the database.
- If the problem persists, the computer may be infected with viruses. Check for and remove the viruses by using antivirus software.
- If the problem still persists, contact Huawei technical support engineers.

4.Ensure that the registry does not contain the PendingFileRenameOperations key value.
a.Choose Start > Run. In the Run dialog box, enter regedit and press Enter.
b.In the register window, choose Edit > Find from the main menu. In the dialog box that is displayed, enter PendingFileRenameOperations and click Find Next.
c.Check whether the PendingFileRenameOperations key value is displayed in the search result. If yes, right-click the key value and choose Delete from the shortcut menu.
5.Reinstall the database.
6.If the problem persists, the computer may be infected with viruses. Check for and remove the viruses by using antivirus software.
7.If the problem still persists, contact Huawei technical support engineers.
