Dual-Link to implement AC Hot Standby

Hello everyone,

This post is about Dual-Link to implement AC Hot Standby.

I have configured the Dual-Link to implement AC Hot Standby, according to:

However, at the end of the test, when the AP detects a fault on the link connected to AC1, it instructs AC2 to take the active role. User services are interrupted.

Is this just a bug in eNSP and there will not be such a situation on the real machine?

Thank you!

If dual-link backup is enabled, by default the CAPWAP heartbeat detection interval is 25s and the number of CAPWAP heartbeat detections is 3.
As defined by CAPWAP, an AP and an AC send handshake packets periodically to maintain the data channel and management channel. If the AP does not receive packets from the AC within the heartbeat detection interval, it considers that the link between them is disconnected. Then the AP resets and releases its IP address, and reestablishes a link. During an active/standby switchover between two ACs, services forwarded through the tunnel may be interrupted if the switchover takes a long time.
So, the AP will use the activa AC1 for 75 seconds before switching to the new active AC. You can configure for example smaller parameters for this but the default are used to prevent frequently changes.

[AC6605-wlan-view] capwap keep-alive interval 30 times 3

If you have also the possibility to test with VRRP there will not be interrupted.
