Does the MA5300 support the port intercommunication in all the cases?

Hi, sir.

The ports on the same service board of the MA5300 are isolated from each other. If two service boards are configured with the same smart VLAN, all the ports on the two service boards are also isolated from each other. In this case, can the two service boards communicate with each other by enabling the ARP proxy function?

Thank you!

Hello, friend!

When the ESMA control board is used, the ports on the same board or the ports isolated by the smart VLAN on different boards can communicate with each other after the ARP proxy is configured on the MA5300.

When the ESMB control board is used, the ports on the same board can communicate with each other through ARP proxy.

The ports on different boards that are isolated by smart VLANs cannot communicate with each other through ARP proxy.

This is because after the same smart VLAN is configured on the two service boards, the LSW ports on the ESMB board are isolated. In this case, even if ARP proxy is enabled, the LSW ports cannot communicate with each other. The ESME is the same as the ESMA.

Thanks!
