Does security group will be deleted when delete the rules?

Hello, community.


I have created four security groups and ten rules on the fusioncompute, and I added eight of the rules to one security group, six for another three groups.


But I have a question that now I want to delete the security group with eight rules.


I do not know if the rules of the security group also will be deleted? 


Can someone tell me what will happen if I delete the security group?

Hello, friend. 

Security groups and rules are independent of each other.

A rule takes effect only after it is applied to a security group. Deleting a security group does not affect the rule. This is because a rule can be applied to multiple security groups. 

However, deleting a rule will affect the security group.

Security group rules use the whitelist mechanism. If multiple security group rules conflict, the union of these rules takes effect.

Hi,

Deleting a group will not impact a Rule as rule is applied on a group. However, if rule is deleted, it'll impact the group(s) it was applied on.
