Controller node:
- The management node must use Huawei servers (including control nodes, extended management nodes, and network nodes of Type 1).
The advantages of using the Huawei server for the management node:
- Ensure the best compatibility and performance guarantees, enabling efficient fault location and troubleshooting in the event of a failure;
- The Huawei server can provide management storage through the FusionStorage deployed by the server. The cost of the management node is low.
- Supports unattended, fully automated installation deployments with high efficiency in installation and deployment. (In the process of automatic installation, operations such as disk slot, NIC slot, and out-of-band management restart command are different between different manufacturers and cannot be fully automated.)
The management node uses the constraint limits of the heterogeneous server:
- Using a heterogeneous server as the management node, you need to prepare an additional SAN device as the management storage. The cost of the Huawei server is higher than that of the Huawei server. The FusionStorage software deployed on the server can be managed and the FusionStorage software license on the management node is not charged. ).
- Fully automated installation deployment is not supported; however, it is still possible to install through a tool installation, which requires multiple manual interventions during the installation deployment process. Compared with Huawei servers, each region requires an additional workload of about 3 to 5 person days.
- Multiple manual interventions are required during installation and deployment. The probability of error is large, which affects the efficiency of installation and deployment.
