Hi all, correct me if i'm wrong but i used the following command: local-user change-password to change my switches password. It works but whenever i complete shutdown my switch, the password will be reset to the earlier password and not the ones i save. So is there anything wrong with local-user change-password command? Do i need to "save" it so that next time complete shutdown the new password i changed is still there?

Hi JaredKelupa,
After confirming the password, you need to run the save command in the user view to save the configuration.

The password is hashed in the configuration file. In this way, you need to save it to save new password.

so after changing, i go to user view and type "save" to save the password. Am i correct?

How about when the switch prompted me to change password as it had expired, i type y to change. Do i also need to save it or it will auto be saved?
