You are advised to set your applications to support reconnecting to the DDS database automatically to increase service availability. After a database restart or failover, the applications automatically reconnect to the DDS database.

In addition, you are advised to set your applications to connect to the DDS database using a long connection. Short connections affect performance and consume resources.
