DDNS Configuration
Click the Network Application tab and then choose DDNS Configuration from the navigation tree. In the right pane, configure DDNS parameters, including Service Provider, Host Name, Service Port, Domain Name, Username, and Password, as shown in Figure 1.

Click Apply.
Dynamic domain name service (DDNS) associates a static domain name with the dynamic IP address of its host.

Assume that server A provides HTTP or FTP service and it is connected to the Internet using routers. If server A obtains an IP address through DHCP, or server A is connected to the Internet through PPPoE, PPTP, or L2TP, the IP address is an dynamic IP address. That is, its IP address may change each time when server A initializes its connection to the Internet.

The mapping between the domain name and IP address provided by the domain name service (DNS) server is static, and the mapping does not update when the IP address changes. Therefore, when the IP address of server A changes, users on the Internet cannot access server A with domain names.

With DDNS, which associates a static domain name with the dynamic IP address of its host, users on the Internet can access the server only with domain names.

Okay, I appreciate your answer, but I knew it! I really wanted to know how to use other DDNS services provider other than those listed at the router? I want to to use the No-IP provider, but as there appears (No-IP) in DDN provider list, can not finish!
I repeat, does not exist in the DDNS service providers list the NO-IP!

I tricked my new Netgear R6300 using Chrome's dev tools to edit the form to the dynamic dns service of my choice, then applied the changes & it worked.

I have DNS setup through No-IP.com. How do I add this service provider to my WNDR3400v2 router? It only has DynDNS.org listed and I can't create a free account there. Anyone know how to do this?

Hi.

You have to choice dyndns-custom. Type dynupdate.no-ip.com in the "Host Name" field. Service port is 80. Than type yourhostname.ddns.net in the "Domain Name" field. You have to use your own host name :) Than you have to type your username and password. Press Apply. Wait for 2 minutes. That's it.

Hi there, my hg8245h has the option for NO-IP. I did configured, I have the paid hostname at noip. But this doesn't work properly, sometimes it updates. sometimes it doesn't. When rebooting or charging my ip of the wan , It won't update.
