Hi there, Community friends!
This time, I will share with you the differences between the SFF and SFP optical modules of the MA5600. Hope you like!
The difference between the Small Form Factor (SFF) and the Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) modules is that the SFP module is pluggable and can be easily replaced on site. The SFF is fixed and soldered on a board or a daughter board. To replace the SFF, you need to replace the daughter board or board.
In addition, the SFP optical module information is stored in the memory of the optical module, and can be queried on the CLI. However, the SFF optical module does not have a memory and its information cannot be queried.
The optical connectors for the 2 optical modules are LC connectors. Other parameters are the same. The optical power is also the same if both optical modules are single mode-1550nm-70km models.
That's all, I welcome everyone to leave a message and exchange in the comment area!
