DHCP Configuration

There are two forms of DHCP Pool:

Interface based pool - Configuring a Pool in the interface

This enable end devices connected to the same network as the interface. Other interfaces can't use the same segment. (The interface pool takes precede over the global pool.)On S5700 switch only logical VLANIF interfaces can be configured with interface address pools.

Global Pool - Configuring a Global Pool and then assigned the interface to that pool. All end devices not matter which interface they are connected as long as that interface is added to this global Pool.

Interface Pool Configuration

[Huawei] dhcp enable

[Huawei] interface G0/0

[Gi0/0] dhcp select interface

It's used to  associate an interface with the interface address pool.

[G0/0] dhcp server dns-list 10.1.1.2

[G0/0]gateway-list 10.1.1.1

Por default the default  gateway es el mismo servidor DHCP si no se especifica.

[G0/0] dhcp server excluded-ip-address 10.1.1.2

[G0/0] dhcp server lease day 3

DHCP Global     Pool Configuration

[Huawei]dhcp enable

[Huawei]ip pool PoolName2

[PoolName2]network 10.1.1.0 mask 24

[PoolName2]gateway-list 10.1.1.1

[PoolName2]excluded-ip-address 10.1.1.2 10.1.1.50

[PoolName2] dns-list 10.1.1.2

[PoolName2]lease day 1

[PoolName2]quit

[router]interface g0/0/0

[g0/0/0]dhcp select global

Commands DHCP

dhcp select global

Used to identify  the global address pool.

dhcp select  interface

Used to identifies  the interface and network segment to which the interface address pool is  associated.

Display ip pool

Shows the lease IP  address for each pool

display ip pool  interface G0/0

dhcp server  static-bind ip-address ip-address mac-address mac-address

If dhcp server  static-bind is not displayed, no IP address in the interface address pool is  bound to the MAC address of the DHCP client. Run the dhcp server static-bind ip-address ip-address mac-address mac-address  command to bind an IP address to the MAC address of the DHCP client.

Configuration of the Relay Agent

DHCP server required global pool to work with relay agents.

#Configure the Group Name

dhcp server group dhcpgrp

#Set the IP addresses of the DHCP servers

dhcp-server 10.1.1.1 1

1 es de 0 a 15  possibles direcciones

#Set the number and IP address of the interface enabled with the DHCP relay function

Interface vlaif 10

ip address 192.168.1.1 24

dhcp select relay

dhcp relay server-select dhcpgrp

You can configure 64 groups in the device and 8 dhcp servers pear group

One interface can have just one DHCP server group

The maximum number of relay agents cannot exceed 4.

Configuration of the DHCP Server

# dhcp enable

#dhcp server ping packets 5 (It is like the DAD Detection Address Dupplicate or the ARP gratuitous check the IP address to offer after offered. The maximum is 5 )

#interface vlanif 10

#ip address 192.189.1.1 24

#dhcp select global

#configure the global DHCP

Configuration of the DHCP Snooping Server

#dhcp enable

#dhcp snooping enable

#interface G3/0/0

#dhcp option92 insert enable

#dhcp snooping enable

In the DHCP client

#interface gigabitethernet 3/0/0

#dhcp snooping trusted

The only way to enable high availability and redundancy between DHCP servers is the protocol Host-Standby Backup HSB

<HUAWEI> system-view
[HUAWEI] dhcp enable
[HUAWEI] dhcp snooping enable
[HUAWEI] interface gigabitethernet 0/0/1
[HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/0/1] dhcp snooping enable
[HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/0/1] dhcp snooping trusted
//The port connected to the DHCP server must be configured.
