Debug 3G/LTE connection issues on AR router

Latest reply: Oct 26, 2018 10:03:41 3007 11 1 0 0

Hi all,

I have an AR510. We are trying to get the 3G/LTE interface going with New Zealand Telco's

I have sim's from a couple of vendors 2degrees and Spark.

The 2 degrees network seems to use WCDMA and this is quite reliable (but slower)

The Spark provider uses LTE when it connects its fast.

I would like to use the LTE connection but it is very intermittent and has a lot of difficulty connecting. I can see the interface "Cellular0/0/0" goes up and down and doesn't connect e.g:

Jul  1 2014 00:11:04+00:00 HuawieRouter %%01IFPDT/4/IF_STATE(l)[25]:Interface Cellular0/0/0 has turned into UP state.
<HuawieRouter>
Jul  1 2014 00:11:14+00:00 HuawieRouter %%01IFPDT/4/IF_STATE(l)[26]:Interface Cellular0/0/0 has turned into DOWN state.

I have tried turning on debug Cellular 0/0/0 all but I don't see much debug information.

What can I do to debug these connection issues on the router?

Thanks, Simon

We are looking into this issue. Would you please provide the detailed Software Version to us first?

And the current configuration you committed on the Router.

I attached the example of the Project Materials, where you can find the detailed steps on how to locate the root cause of SIM card issue. Refer to Trouble Shooting Cases.

Hi there, I can't download that attachment. It says "waiting for Audit" in red text.

I have managed to get the router going now. However I'm a bit disappointed about the debug features of the router.

When I turn on debugging using "debug Cellular 0/0/0 all"   no debug output appears on the console - it should show me all the cellular interface events, packets, errors etc.

Is this a bug with this router?

Did you open the terminal debugging and terminal monitor switch?
