Hello, everyone!
This post will tell you a case about one DCN issue.
Issue Description
Some NEs at a site become unreachable to the NMS frequently after accessing the network.
Handling Process
1. The NEs that have accessed the network are in the single-chain topology. More than five NEs are frequently unreachable on the NMS, and four NEs are reachable on the NMS. NE A is the closest unreachable NE to the NCE server, and NE B is the farthest reachable NE to the NCE server.
2. No abnormal alarm is reported on NE A and NE B, and the OSC channel between NE A and NE B is normal without bit errors.
3. The fault persists after the active and standby SCC boards on NE A are switched over.
4. Query the ECC link management of NE B for multiple times. The link distance of NE A alternately changes between 0 and 3, indicating that ECC flapping occurs.
5. The ESC is not planned on the network. Therefore, disable the ESC of all OTU boards. The fault is rectified.
Root Cause
ECC Flapping Caused by Unstable ESC
Solution
Disabling ESC for Unplanned OTU Boards.
That's all, I welcome everyone to leave a message and exchange in the comment area!
