Dear forum community,

We have a situation in which we have to connect PowerCube 500 to production.

Currently VLAN 109 is used for service network, so we connected some cameras and assigned IP addresses.

We connected all cameras to access type of port on PowerCube.

Connection is established.

However we also need to connect PowerCube to eSight and PowerCube needs to have L3 address for eSight.

We only have one uplink and one VLAN. We need to transmit IP address of PowerCube together with service data.

How is this configured in this type of devices, we don't have VLAN interface like routers AR550C has?

PowerCube 500 has similar WEB GUI as RTN 900 f.e.

Thank you, BR.

@Sasa_91 hi, it would work in theoretically, when connect the NMS port to EG8P directly, make sure the the NMS port connect to the GE8 or other ports those doesn't enable the 802.1x.
By the way, you'd better clarify to the customer, when connecting as you described, there are risks because of the service traffics and management traffic are transfering in the same vlan.

Hi cWX611640,
All cameras are currently connected through bridge-based 802.1Q, every port is of type access and this is connected to uplink equipment. It is a single VLAN - VLAN 100
Customer wanted to connect management networks in the same VLAN as for service.
So DCN is not an option, because in inband DCN we would need separate VLAN for DCN and trunk/hybrid port for uplink.

Only solution seems to be to connect NMS port to EG8P port directly.
In the Communication parameters section of configuration I changed the address but it remained 192.168.102.1 after apply. I was unable to change NMS address, this is the problem I couldn't solve.
I think this is because DHCP Client is turned on and current IP is all NULL.
I will try to turn off DHCP client as recommended and connect NMS port to last port of EG8P board (non-PoE). This port will be access in the same VLAN.
It is acceptable by customer.
