CX600 M2E forget console password

how to reset CX600 M2E forget console password


as below choices :


  1. Boot with default mode
     2. Boot from U-DISK
     3. Enter ethernet submenu
     4. Set boot file and path
     5. Modify boot ROM password
     6. List file in U-DISK
     7. Modify System and Chassis Parameters
     8. Modify start mode
     9. Clear expand flag
    10. Reboot


someone said , while upgrading the OS , we can change the password , but i couldn't find OS/firmware here .


Can anyone help ?

I have not operated this carrier product. But I've used this method on the NE40 to clear the password. If using this method, you need to use FTP to upload a blank configuration file through BootROM. 

I just found another way on the carrier's website, that is, change the profile name directly.

As follows:

Once rebooting press CTRL+K to enter the kernel menu, set again the credential mentioned before, select option 1 to list the files of the CF-CARD.

Change the name of the file vrpcfg.zip

Select option 3 (rename) VRPCFG.ZIP FORVRPCFG1.ZIP

After this, select Option 10 (reboot)

After the reboot you will be able to set a new password to login into the device

@popeye thanks for your help, unfortunately i tried to edit vrc.zip file before with no success.
Can you please help me in the first way to set a blank configuration file , do you have any documents explain this.

Hello,

The functions of the BootROM menu vary according to the device and version. Since there is not an option of clearing the password for the console user in the BootROM menu, you can select '4' to set another blank file as the configuration file. And after you log in through the console port, run the load configuration file command to load the original configuration file and clear the password.
