[Problem Description]<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Customer got 2 switches, configured as below but cannot ping to opposite,

Configured:

“port link type trunk”

“port trunk allow-pass vlan 40”  at both side

[Problem Analysis]

1.       From our checking, the both sides devices don’t learn opposite device arp information

2.       Then we check physical interface and vlanif interface are both up

3.       We checked the stp status, found the interface G0/0/23 of DR_S5720 is alted, so there should be a physical loop on customer network, need check the connecting link

[Root Cause]

Interface G0/0/23 of DR_S5720 is alted by stp, there is a physical loop on customer network, need check the connecting link

[Solution Description]

We can disable the stp for interface G0/0/23 to be a workaround, but it is recommended that customer can check the connecting link which causing physical loop

interface gi0/0/23

stp disable
