A customer is using OSN580 and observed that the current power consumption is higher than the power consumption threshold. But U2000 did not report the NE_POWER_OVER alarm.

Current power = 827

Threshold = 800

Nominal power = 1103

Please help to discuss and suggest the solution.

Check whether the alarm is masked or suppressed, and then synchronize the current alarm to reduce the power consumption of the device.If you want to reduce the power consumption of the device, you can use either of the following methods: 1. Delete the unused logical boards on the NMS. 2. Removing an Unused Physical Board from an NE.

I checked in the eLab, the Threshold is higher than the Nominal Power. I think this is relevant. Looking at Anil queries, the threshold is lower than the Nominal Power.

Check whether the alarm is masked or suppressed, and then synchronize the current alarm to reduce the power consumption of the device. You can also clean the FAN board and fan filter to ensure proper ventilation and heat dissipation.

Ok thanks, we tried unpluging the unused board and the power consumption reduced. But is this a long term solution or only a quick fix?

A quick fix,but very effective
This is a temporary solution to determine whether new services need to be added. If new services need to be added and physical boards need to be added, this is a temporary solution.
