current network routers replacement

Hi,

Our network currently consists Cisco 800 series routers which are stationed in each office with VPN tunnels connecting the networks.

We are looking with interest to change the Cisco routers to Huawei routers and would like to know if it is possible to change them case by case, instead of having them to replace all at once due to the VPN tunnel connections. Basically, can you create a VPN tunnel from a Cisco 881 to say a Huawei AR 151?

Best regards,

Edwin

Hi Edwin,

Yes you can configure an IPSeC VPN tunnel between a Huawei router and a Cisco router. There may be some differences in the exact features supported by the routers but IPSeC uses standard mechanisms so you should be able to find a configuration which works at both ends.
