Why Are Fields IP, code, request, response and message of Some Traces Displayed on the View Trace Page Null?

The fields IP, code, request, response and message are optional.

  • IP: If SystemAction is selected for Trace Type, the operation is triggered by the system. It is normal that the content of the IP field is left blank.

  • request, response, and code: The three fields indicate the request body and code sent and received by the API of a trace when sending an HTTP request. The content of the fields depends on the cloud service triggering the trace, and it is normal to be left blank.

  • message: This field is used for each cloud service to record the remarks. Its content depends on the cloud service triggering the trace, and it is normal to be left blank.

What is Cloud-Trace
Cloud Trace Service (CTS) provides records of operations on cloud service resources. With CTS, you can query, audit, and backtrack operations. CTS provides four types of operation records: Operations performed on the ServiceCenter tenant portal. Operations for applying for or deleting cloud resources, for example, applying for or deleting an ECS, or creating or modifying an image. Operations performed by supporting APIs, for example, creating, modifying, querying or deleting a tracker, or querying the trace list. Operations triggered by cloud services, for example, an EIP is assigned to the Elastic Computing Service (ECS) when it is being created. On the ServiceCenter tenant portal, you can query operation records for the last seven days. To track operations over a longer period, you can enable the Object Storage Service (OBS) and deliver operation records to OBS buckets for storage in real time.

What is the definition of a trace
A trace is the operation record of tracking and saving cloud service resources by Cloud Trace Service (CTS). You can view traces to see a history of operations performed by a specific user on specific resources. There are two types of traces: Trace: Refer to an operation record generated during the last seven days.Archived trace: Refer to historical operation record that has been stored in the OBS bucket.
