How to activate the license on the AC
An AC's license controls the maximum number of online APs allowed on the AC. To activate the license, perform the following steps: CLI: 1. Upload a license file to the AC. 2. Run the license active filename command to activate the license. 3. Run the display license command to check the license status. Web platform: Log in to the web platform, and upload a license file on the License Management page. Click Activate. The license status includes: - Normal: indicates that the license is activated and in normal state. If the state of a commercial license is not Normal, rectify the fault. - Trial: indicates that the license is in Trial state. The possible causes are as follows: The ESN does not match when the license is activated: The license can be used for 60 days only. You must re-apply for a license that matches the ESN and reactivate it. The temporary license expires: You must apply for a formal license and reactivate it. The license file is invalid: You must apply for a new license based on the revocation code and reactivate it. - Demo: indicates that the license is in Demo state. After a temporary license file is loaded, the license state becomes Demo. In this case, the functions can work properly, but the license has a validity period. To continue to use functions controlled by this license, apply for a commercial license file before the temporary one expires. - Emergency: indicates that the license is in Emergency state. In commercial scenarios, if emergencies like earthquake, volcano explosion, and tsunami occur, you can run the license emergency command to enable the license to enter the emergency state. Release the license restriction within seven days, and enable the system to run with the maximum configurations. The emergency state can be enabled up to three times, lasting seven days each time. In addition, it cannot be manually disabled. - Default: indicates that the license is not activated or has expired. You must apply for a new license and activate it. If a license file enters the default state when it expires or becomes invalid, services may be interrupted.
