How to connect feeder cables to APs

Feeder cables are used to connect APs to external antennas. Feeder cables need to be made onsite and should not be too long. Connectors of feeder cables should match those of APs/antennas. For details about how to make and connect feeder cables, see HUAWEI Access Points Antenna Quick Start.
- Indoor APs generally use thin feeder cables. Such cables may cause severe signal attenuation. Therefore, it is recommended that the feeder cable length be no longer than 15 m.
- Outdoor APs generally use thick feeder cables. Such cables have low signal loss but are hard. The bend radius is large (> 150 mm for RG-8U feeder cables; > 50 mm for 1/2" feeder cables; > 250 mm for 7/8" feeder cables).
