STP abnormal status locating method on an AR router

By default, STP is enabled on an AR router globally and on Layer 2 interface. Run the stp enable command in the system or interface view to enable STP globally or on Layer 2 interface. Run the stp disable command in the system or interface view to disable STP globally or on Layer 2 interface.

If the MSTP status of an interface changes, the device will recalculate the status of all other interfaces in the MST region.

MSTP interface status: - Forwarding: In this state, an interface forwards user traffic. Only the root interface or a specified interface can be in this state. - Learning: This is a transitional state. In this state, a switch will build a MAC address table according to the user traffic it receives (but not forward the user traffic). That is why this state is referred to as a learning state. - Discarding: In this state, an interface blocks packets and does not learn MAC addresses.

When the MSTP status of a WLAN device is abnormal, perform the following operations to locate the fault: 1. Check whether configurations on each interface of the device are correct. The configurations of interfaces in the same MST domain must be the same. 2. Run the debugging stp [ interface interface-type interface-number ] packet { all | send | receive } command to check whether each interface properly sends and receives STP packets. 3. If the fault persists, collect log, alarm, and debugging information, and contact Huawei technical personnel.

In hardware SDN, the subnet segments of all VPCs that use the same external network cannot overlap. Otherwise, the subnet status may be abnormal. Therefore, if the subnet status is abnormal, create subnets on different network segments.
