SBS impacts

Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) occurs when the transmit power of a wavelength reaches a specified level. The SBS effect seriously affects the optical transmission performance. Huawei WDM equipment suppresses SBS by increasing the spectral width of the bias signal of the laser.
Only 2.5G and 10G signals requires SBS suppression. SBS suppression is not required for 40G and 100G coherent signals because of their large spectral widths.
